The spacer ring for axial alignment of parts such as bearings, shafts, gears, wheels etc. is mfd. from a blank (4), oversize and mfd. to coarse tolerances, of plastically deformable material. This blank is placed inn a press between upper and lower plates (1,2) and surrounded by a calibration block (3). It is upset to produce an element ready for use. ADVANTAGE - Economical method of mfr. of elements accurate to size.
