The invention relates to a combination lock of the type comprising at least one bolt (1) movable in a housing under the action of a pull (3), counter to the action of a spring (11), at least one pivoting wheel making it possible to displace the bolt (1) into the opening position in only one of the angular positions of the wheel, the wheel carrying a plurality of numbers passing successively opposite a window (10) of the housing during the rotation of the wheel, and means for changing the angular position for the release of the bolt (1), and to a mask for shutting off the window (10). The lock according to the invention is characterised in that the said mask, fixed to the pull (3), is arranged, during a first displacement travel of the pull (3) towards the opening position, to expose the window (10) and, during a second subsequent travel of the pull (3), to come into engagement with the bolt (1) and push it into the position for opening the lock.
