The installation comprises at least one elongate plating head provided with an upper part (6) which is conical in cross-section with an orifice (7) in the form of a longitudinal slit, with a fabric (8) in order to cover the orifice (7) and to present a surface for the plating of a predetermined part of the contact elements (1) while they pass along each plating head (3), and with means for imparting to the fabric (8) a transverse movement with respect to the plating head (3). The invention applies to electrical and/or electronic connections using contact elements or pins made of copper alloy which are partially provided with a gold plating. <IMAGE>
