The invention relates to a process for continuous casting intended for shaping metal matrix composite bodies reinforced by refractory ceramic particles. It consists in casting the molten metal containing the ceramic particles in a mould closed off by a movable base and consisting of an upstream hot zone (1) made from an insulating material and a downstream cooled zone (3) in which the composite solidifies, whilst producing, inside this mould, an electromagnetic stirring action ensuring mixing movements in planes containing the casting axis.
