The sealing device includes a seal (1), the lip (2) of which may bear directly on the drive shaft (3) of the pump. This seal is in abutment on a bearing ring (10) itself retained axially by an annular stop-piece (6). The seal (1) is advantageously made from elastomer filled with graphite, and the ring (10) is advantageously made of reinforced polyester. A hydrodynamic pumping system (14) with helical groove (15) makes it possible to force the fluid towards the pumping circuit (13).
