发明名称 REINFORCING MATERIAL FOR SYNTHETIC RESIN
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a reinforcing material for synthetic resins capable of providing molded products excellent in physical properties such as strength, elastic modulus, moisture absorptivity and barrier properties by mixing glass staple fiber with granular glass flakes having a larger gain size than that of the glass short fiber. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing material obtained by mixing (A) glass short fiber, preferably chopped strand having <=6mm, especially 0.5-3mm cut length and 6-15mu strand diameter with (B) granular glass flakes, prepared by applying 0.2-10 pts.wt. binder (e.g. polyvinyl acetate) to 100 pts.wt. glass flakes having 0.5-7mum average thickness, 10-2000mum average particle diameter and 5-2000 aspect ratio according to spraying, etc., and then sufficiently stirring, mixing, drying the resultant glass flakes, etc., and having a larger grain size than that of the component (A), preferably a grain size of about 1.5 to 10 times based on that of the component (A) so as to provide (1:99)-(99:1), preferably (20:80)-(80:20) weight ratio.
