PURPOSE:To accomplish the improvement in the adhesivity of fiber to special rubbers with esp. polarity by treating e.g. aromatic polyester fiber with a treating solution containing specific compounds followed by further treatment with a second treating solution prepared by formulating AFL with a special chlorophenol compound. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic polyester or aromatic polyamide fiber is treated with the first treating solution containing (A) a polyoxide compound, (B) a blocked polyisocyanate compound and (C) a rubber latex, and then treated with the second treating solution prepared by formulating an alkylresorcin- formalin-rubber latex(AFL) with (D) a special chlorophenol compound, e.g. a compound having such molecular weight distribution as to be (5-10):(5-15):(90-15) in the ratio a compound of formula I (binuclear compound)/ compound of formula II (trinuclear compound)/compound of formula III (tetranuclear compound), produced by cocondensation e.g. between p-chlorophenol and resorcin and formaldehyde at the weight ratio AFL/D=(65-35)-(75:25), thus improving the adhesivity of the fiber to special rubbers like chloroprene rubber with said adhesivity durable to long-term use. |
