<p>A backing plate retainer means (12, 12') is disclosed for retaining a backing plate (B, B') for clamping engagement with a fastening element such as a hook (H) and eye (E) fastener. The retainer means (12, 12') includes an adapter strip (19, 19') of a given width which is removably attached to at least one of its longitudinal edges (12c, 12c'). The retainer means (12, 12') has magnetic members (20, 20') adapted to attract and hold the adapter strip (19, 19') in place with respect to the retainer means (12, 12').</p> |
