PURPOSE:To improve safety and running stability of a vehicle during steering by a method wherein a play mechanism is mounted in the middle of a coupling mechanism through which steering mechanisms on the front wheel side and on the rear wheel side are intercoupled, and a steering mechanism to independently steer rear wheels is attached to the steering mechanism on the rear wheel side. CONSTITUTION:The one end part of a cable 7 is coupled to the end part of a rack 1, with which a pinion 3 rotated by a steering wheel 2 is geared, through an arm piece 4. Movement of the rack 1 is transmitted to the cable 7 only when the arm piece 4 is collided with a stopper 8a or 8b. The other end part of the cable 7 is coupled to the one end part of a rod 10 on the input side with which a steering mechanism 9 on the rear wheel side is formed, and the other end of the rod 10 is coupled to a rod 16 on the output side in a hydraulic cylinder 29 through a first coupling rod 17. The one end part of a second coupling rod 21 linked to the middle part of the coupling rod 17 is pivotally mounted to a spool 23 of a hydraulic switching valve 22 and the other end part thereof to a nut piece 44 axially moved through rotation of a stepping motor 45. |
