PURPOSE:To measure salinity automatically, simply and highly accurately with excellent reproducibility by inputting a material to be measured in a water tank, agitating the material in pure water, and measuring the eluted salinity with a monitoring device. CONSTITUTION:A clean garment which is a material to be measured is inputted into a water tank, and water-input button is depressed. The pure water flows into the water tank 1. When the water reaches a specified water level, a level sensor 6 senses the level and sends a signal to a valve 4a on the side of a water pipe 2. Thus the valve 4a is closed. When a start button is depressed, a motor 8 is operated, and a propeller 7 is rotated. The clean garment and the pure water are agitated for a specified time period. After the agitation is finished, the propeller 7 is stopped, and the valve 4b is opened. Pure water is inputted into a monitoring device 10 to a specified level. When salinity is contained in the clean garment, the concentration of sodium ions can be simply measured with a sodium electrode 10a and a reference electrode 10b. At this time, a temperature compensating electrode 10 is operated so that the measuring accuracy is not affected with respect to the change in temperature. |
