Control circuit for honing machine - uses tool travel to control initial honing and force exerted on tool to control final honing

The honing machine for fine finishing of workpiece surfaces has a tool (3) with a body (20) with stones (18,19) which can be adjusted by actuator (10,11). The actuator may be operated by a control circuit which is controlled by the travel of the tool or is controlled by the force exerted on the tool. The control may be hydraulic, pneumatic or electric. In this machine at least two different adjustments are employed. The initial honing operation may be controlled by the tool travel and the final honing operation may be controlled by the force exerted on the tool.
