PURPOSE:To realize high C/N for practical use and high erasing ratio for one- beam overwriting by specifying the ranges of reflectance for recording state and for nonrecording state. CONSTITUTION:The phase-transition type optical recording medium is constituted so that such properties that reflectance R1 of the recording state and reflectance R2 in the nonrecording state are both >=5% and satisfy 0.3<=¦(R1-R2)/R2¦<=0.8. Namely, the optical recording medium is designed by determining the absolute value of (R1-R2)/R2 in a proper range. By this method, tracking of laser light can be easily performed and the obtd. medium has high erasing ration for one- beam overwriting and high C/N for practical use. |
