PURPOSE:To make it possible to realize an integrated and very small green laser with low noise output by installing a lambda/4 plate and nonlinear optical crystal into a resonator in structure and converging light semiconductor laser light with a lens and exciting the end face of a solid laser medium in its axial direction. CONSTITUTION:This semiconductor laser exciting solid laser device is housed in the same package in the order of KTP crystal 2, lambda/4 plate (lambda=1.064mum), Nd: YAG rod 1, SELFOC lens 4, and a semiconductor laser chip. The resonator is formed between an end face 1-A on an exciting side of a YGA rod 1 and an end face 2-B on the discharge side of a KTP crystal 2. The former is a convex mirror with curvature of 60mm while the latter is a plane mirror. The KTP crystal 2 is inserted into the resonator of Nd:YAG laser in structure. Moreover, a beam waist is in the KTP crystal 2, which enables efficient conversion to higher harmonics. The insertion of the lambda/4 plate reduces the generation of noise and stabilizes the output of higher harmonics of 0.53mum. |
