PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by controlling power supply to a voice decoding section based on received voiced/voiceless information. CONSTITUTION:A voiced/voiceless detection section 4 detecting the presence of a voice signal to be sent and means 5-6 sending the voiced/voiceless information being the output of the detection section 4 as one control data are provided on a transmission side. A means 17 controlling the power supply to a voice decoding section 13 is provided based on the received voiced/voiceless information on a reception side to control the power to the voice decoding section 13 by using the control data sent from the transmission side. Thus, power is supplied to the voice decoding section only when the voiced information is received and it is possible to stop the power supply to the voice decoding section in the case of voiceless information and the power consumption is reduced. |
