PURPOSE:To eliminate a defective in setting a reference value of toner density control by recognizing that a detected value of toner density set as a reference value becomes abnormal when the reference value is set by using a display and/or a warning sound. CONSTITUTION:When the detected value obtained by a sensor 1 when the reference value of toner density control is set is within a specific range, the value is set as the reference value, so the toner density control is performed thereafter according to the value. When the detected value is not within the specific range, a display part 5 makes the display and/or generates the warning sound, so it is confirmed that the detected value is abnormal. Consequently, the defective in reference value setting is precluded. |
