This invention relates to magnesia cement. This magnesia cement includes a magnesium salt and magnesia, to which stabilising water is added. The magnesia salt is partially dehydrated, having a ratio preferably from 2 to 4, which is expressed as water molecules relative to each magnesia salt molecule. This cement is used to produce a hydraulic linked material, in which the relative proportions of magnesium salt, magnesia, and water, are defined by section No. 1, preferably from section No. 2 of the ternary diagram MgO-MgCl2-H2O of fig. 1, or from the section of ternary diagram MgO-MgSO4-H2O, as defined in fig. 2. This gives reduced hardening time (section No. 1 for oxychoride or oxysulphuric salt), as well as greater resistance to humidity (section No. 2 for linking, oxychloride salt materials.)
