The stimulus pick-up coil is connected to the bone screws (12) via connecting plugs (20) consisting of a circular top (22) and a concentrically mounted cylindrical body section (24). The plug (20) is hollow with diametrically opposed slits (26) in the thin body section (24) to give it flexability. The connecting wire (30) from the pick-up coil passes through a diametrically drilled hole in the circular top (22) and is clamped or welded on the opposite side. The top of the bone screws (12) consist of a slightly tapered hexagonal recess (36) designed to accept a special screwdriver. The connecting plug (20) has a body with a similar form (24) to that of the hexagonal recess (36) and is pushed down into the bone screw (12), deforms and tightly secures itself.
