PURPOSE: To obtain a liquid transfer article covered with a thin layer of a polymer exhibiting lipophilic and hydrophobic characteristics on a surface of a well by coating a base material with ceramic or metal carbide layer, engraving a surface of the coating by a pattern of a liquid acceptive well by a laser beam, vapor depositing the polymer, and filling fine pores of the surface of the well. CONSTITUTION: A surface of a base material 3 is grit blasted to a rough surface 4. The grit blasted surface 4 is covered with a ceramic coating 5 (preferably chromium oxide) coated by thermal spraying. The surface of the layer 5 is ground to be finished, formed with a pattern of a well 6 for accepting an ink by laser beam engraving or polishing, polished on a surface area 7 between wells to receive a doctor blade. A parylene is vapor deposited on the well 6 and the polished region 7 to generate a film of a thickness of 1.5 micron. The deposited parylene is effectively fully filled in micropores on the surface of the well of a laser engraved roll, and a thin parylene film is attached to the surface of the well. |
