PURPOSE:To obtain a secondary battery which can be charged and discharged at a high speed and has flat discharging voltage, excellent cycle characteristics and high voltage by using a conjugate conducting polymer obtained by specific chemical oxidation polymerization for a positive electrode active material. CONSTITUTION:A conjugate conducting polymer, manufactured by chemical oxidation polymerization while the oxidation potential value of a reaction solution is restricted in the range 400-800mv (for saturated calomel electrode) when the monomer selected from aromatic compounds with pyrrole ring or thiophene ring is polymerized, is used for a positive electrode active material. A secondary battery which can be charged and discharged at a high speed and has flat discharging voltage, excellent cycle characteristics and high voltage can be obtained. |
