The invention relates to an anti-pulmonary embolism filter of the type made of an elastic wire with remanent spring effect, characterized in that it is configured like a spiral (1) with three non jointed turns (2, 3, 4), the medial turn (3) having a diameter (d3) larger than the diameter (d2, d4) of the two other turns, the diameter (d3) being selected to be approximately equal to the value of the semi-circonference of the vena cava in the area where the filter has to be implanted in order to optimally ensure the function in holding in place the filter by flattening the vena cava.
