PURPOSE:To obtain a magnified image with high definition without jaggy by shifting an image magnified in twice one by one image element in horizontal and vertical directions, arranging the image in a memory so that locally magnified patterns are overlapped with each other, adding the overlapped parts and averaging the parts. CONSTITUTION:Control points 19 are selected from an image magnified twice in a matrix shape at an internal of one image element in horizontal and vertical directions to constitute an approximate curved surface and a local magnified pattern 22 is formed by sampling the approximate curved surface so that an output picture is a magnified image with a desired magnification factor. Then the local magnified pattern 22 is formed while shifting the image magnified twice is shifted in the horizontal and vertical directions one by one image element and the image elements are arranged in a memory so that the local magnified patterns 22 are overlapped, and a magnified image magnifying the original image by a desired magnification factor is outputted by adding the overlapped parts of the local magnification patterns 22 and averaging the patterns with respect to a proper sum. Thus, a magnified image with high accuracy without jaggy on a curve or a tilt line is obtained. |
