<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the reading time and simultaneously to reduce the cost of a scanner digitizer by connecting a coordinate reader of the prescribed length to an index head. CONSTITUTION:A linear coordinate reader 38 contains many read elements arranged in a row on the upper surface of a tablet 36 of an electromagnetic conduction type or an electrostatic connection type. The cursor devices 40 and 42 are attached to both ends of the reader 38. Then the reader 38 is manually moved toward an arrow on the tablet 36 and an original set on the tablet 36 is scanned. Thus the position signals of both devices 40 and 42 are inputted to a computer 34 together with the read signal of the reader 38. Thus, the coordinates included in an areas read by the reader 38 are acquired as the data which are based on an overall coordinate system of a digitizer. Thus even a compact reader can scan a large area and also only an optional area.</p> |
