CONSTITUTION:A battery consists of a positive electrode 1, a titanium net 2, a polypropylene separator 3, a sealing plate 4, a lithium negative electrode 5, an electrolyte 6, and a polypropylene gasket 7. An oxide comprising manganese(Mn) and antimony (Sb) in which an atomic ratio of Mn:Sb is 1.00:0.01-1.00:0.10 is used as the active material of the positive electrode 1. Where Sb exists as a kind of impurity in MnO2, bonding is formed between tetravalent Mn and pentavalent Sb, and a semiconductor is formed by atomic valency control, and electronic conductivity of the active material itself is increased. Cycling reversibility and low temperature performance are increased.
