PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricant composition of which the viscosity is sufficiently low at low temperatures by mixing a solvent-dewaxed oil obtained by subjecting a specific hydrorefined oil to solvent-dewaxing with either an oil obtained by subjecting the solvent-dewaxed oil to contact dewaxing or an oil obtained by subjecting the hydrorefined oil to contact dewaxing. CONSTITUTION:A crude oil is topped and the residual oil is then subjected to vacuum distillation. The distillate is extracted with an aromatic solvent and the residual oil is hydrorefined. The hydrorefined oil is then subjected to solvent dewaxing to obtain a solvent-dewaxed oil. This oil is mixed with either an oil obtained by subjecting this oil to contact dewaxing or with an oil obtained by subjecting the above hydrorefined oil to contact dewaxing, to thereby obtain a lubricant composition. Having a sufficiently low viscosity at low temperatures, this lubricant composition is advantageously employed as an engine oil, a gear oil, and the like. |
