TECHNOLOGICAL SECTOR: explosives for military use. TECHNICAL PROBLEM: detonators for pyrotechnic delay hand bombs explode instantaneously when primed without the due delay time on account of accidental absence of the component containing the retarding chemical mixture. ESSENTIAL FEATURES OF THE SOLUTION: in a well-assembled detonator the tongue of initial flame primes a delay comprising a special chemical mixture, a delay which only reaches the temperature priming the subjacent priming chain, a chain which explodes only when heat is persistently applied to it, after a specific length of time. If by accident a chemical retard component is omitted, the invention provides a system through which the tongue of flame, by not persisting (being instantaneous) against the underlying priming chain does not activate the sensitive explosive unless the heat persists. In this way the instantaneous explosion of hand bombs in the absence of the explosive delay mixture in the detonator will certainly be avoided. <IMAGE> |
