PURPOSE:To prevent that the ink is hindered from being discharged or discharged improperly even when the air bubbles are accumulated at a discharge port by sucking the ink through the discharge port by a suction means when a recording head reaches a first predetermined temperature thereby to control to stop recording until the recording head reaches a second predetermined temperature. CONSTITUTION:When recording information is received from a host computer, a carriage 2 is moved one step. The recording information is transferred to a recording head 1, so that the recording head is driven to record onto a recording medium 10 through discharge of the ink from an ink discharge port. After it is checked and discriminated that recording of one line is not finished, the procedure is repeated. If recording of one line is completed, the temperature of the recording head 1 is confirmly. At this time, if the temperature of the recording head 1 is lower than a first predetermined temperature t1, the apparatus waits for the next recording information to come. If the recording head 1 is higher than the predeter mined temperature t1, the carriage 2 is retreated to a home position H. The ink is forcibly sucked from the discharge port in accordance with the suction procedure. Thereafter, it waits until the recording head 1 becomes lower than a second predetermined temperature t2. When the recording head is lower than the predetermined temperature t2, the recording operation is repeated again. |
