The present invention relates to a method of measuring overleakage in a pipe network, in particular a drain network with extended surface water and waste water pipes. The purpose of the invention is primarily to determine in a rapid and effective manner the proportion of overleaking surface water in the total flow in the waste water pipe and secondarily to quantify the overleakage. In this connection, use is made of a leakage- indication agent, the surface water pipe being plugged or dammed downstream and a liquid containing a previously determined concentration of leakage-indication agent being added upstream of the pipe run to be investigated. When the filling of the surface water pipe is adequate, samples are taken in the waste water pipe at defined points downstream and, after the concentration has been determined with regard to leakage-indication agent added to the surface water pipe, the proportion of overleaking surface in the total flow in the waste water pipe is determined. Quantification of the overleakage can be effected after determining the flow in the waste water pipe. |
