PURPOSE:To make it possible that NOx and sooty smoke are reduced with durability foreign to any problem by setting the blowout directions of connecting nozzle holes communicating with the main combustion chamber of two pre- combustion chambers having the same construction so that they do not oppose each other. CONSTITUTION:Two pre-combustion chambers 4, 4 having the same construction and mounted at the position of symmetry as to the cylinder central axis are provided to each cylinder of a cylinder head 1. Multiple circular connecting nozzle holes 7 provided penetrating through the end cylindrical part of the pre-combustion chambers 4 do not face each other, and directed to different directions each other so that the combustion gas comes out of each connecting nozzle hole 7 ejects in the direction that rotates as to the central axis in a main combustion chamber 5. With these means, the thermal load of each pre- combustion chamber 4 is reduced and durability is enhanced. Also, the two flows of combustion gas ejected from two pre-combustion chambers 4 to the main combustion chamber 5 do not collide each other, and do not interfer mutually, and swiftly mixed with air respectively in each space of the main combustion chamber 5 and can be effectively burnt. |
