PURPOSE:To increase a reproducing repeating interval by providing a light phase modulating means in an optical transmitter and providing a means to split an input optical signal into two, means to apply delay difference and means to synthesize the optical signals in an optical receiver. CONSTITUTION:A binary electric signal inputted from an input terminal 1 is converted to the optical signal and sent out to a transmission optical fiber 3. In such a case, a code converting circuit 21 obtains two states to the input signal and each time a space is inputted, the state is inverted. Then, a phase modulating light generating circuit 22 generates the optical signals, which phases are different at 180 deg., according to the output state of the circuit 21 and outputs the optical signal which phase is modulated. Next, the output of the circuit 22 is inputted through the fiber 3 and a light amplifier repeater 4 to an optical receiver 5. In the receiver 5, the input optical signal is splitted by a light splitter 51 and one signal is delayed by a light delay element 52 and synthesized by a light synthesizer 53. Since the signal is directly detected by a photodetector 54, the electric signal with the same pattern as the input electric signal to a transmitter 2 can be stably obtained and the reproducing repeating interval can be increased. |
