METHOD FOR ROTARY MILLING

This method is used in machine building where there is need to machine long rotational surfaces. It provides for increased linear productivity and accuracy of the macro geometry of the processed part. The method includes rotational movement of the milling cutter around its axis and a longitudinal feeding motion as well as a rotational feeding motion of the processed piece with their axis crossing orthogonally. The distance a between the orthogonally crossed axes of the milling cutter and the processed piece is calculated using the following formula:<IMAGE>where Rmill is the milling cutter radius, Rp - the radius of the processed piece; Delta max is the maximum error in the macro geometry.
