<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for battery replacement until the life of a battery ends by using a rechargeable battery as a battery to be incorporated in a pen for coordinate indication and charging the battery when the pen for coordinate indication is not used without detaching the battery. CONSTITUTION:When the pen 2 for coordinate indication is not used and set in the pen stand of a digitizer main body 1 with its tip faceup and facedown, the secondary side coil 11 of the pen 2 for coordinate indication is interposed between the primary coil 5 and iron core 6 of a transformer for charging and coupled with the primary side coil 5 electromagnetically. Consequently, an AC voltage is developed across the secondary coil 11 and rectified and smoothed by a rectifying and smoothing circuit 12, whose output is supplied to the rechargeable battery 7. Therefore, when the pen 2 for coordinate indication is not used, the chargeable battery 7 incorporated in the pen 2 for coordinate indication is always in a charged state. Consequently, the battery need not be replaced until its life ends.</p> |
