<p>In a previously known centrifugal separator the centrifuge rotor has two axially separated end walls (1, 2) and one surrounding wall (3) situated axially between the end walls (1, 2), the end walls and a stack of separation discs (12) within the centrifuge rotor being kept axially together by means of a central fastening means (9) separate from the surrounding wall (3). The invention resides in the feature that the surrounding wall (3) is formed separate from both of the end walls (1, 2) and is axially movable during rotor operation relative to at least one of these end walls. Furthermore, the surrounding wall (3) should have a smaller inner diameter in both of the areas in which it seals against the end walls (1, 2) than it has in an area situated axially between these areas.</p> |
