<p>A flowmeter for measuring at least one flow characteristic of a fluid stream flowing through a pipe, the flowmeter comprising a pipe, a body which is located in the pipe and is adapted to induce a swirling flow in the fluid stream, pulse emitting means for emitting energy pulses into the swirling flow, pulse receiving means for receiving the energy pulses transmitted through the swirling flow and processing means for processing signals from the pulse emitting means and pulse receiving means thereby to determine at least one flow characteristic of the fluid stream. The invention also relates to a method of measuring at least one flow characteristic of a fluid stream flowing through a pipe.</p> |
