<p>An aqueous masking solution and method of employing that solution to settle dust and safeguard against overspray on protected portions of a vehicle The masking solution contains water, an aliphatic polyhydroxy carrier (preferably glycerol), a thickener (preferably xanthan gum), and preferably a surfactant. The method combines edge masking using a thin edging means such as masking paper or masking tape, with application of the masking solution to the remainder of the vehicle that will not be painted. After painting, the masking solution can be washed off with water.</p> |
