The contact device is intended for a lock comprising a cylinder plug including a stator (3) and a rotor (4) mounted in the stator, and provided with a housing (5) in which the key (6) can be inserted, electrical contact means (D, C) being provided in the lock and on the key to allow the transmission to an electrical circuit of the lock of data capable of controlling electrical unlocking, if the correct key has been inserted, whilst the mechanical unlocking is controlled conventionally by the key. The electrical contact means comprise an intermediate conducting member (16) mounted movably in the rotor (4) and capable of projecting, under the action of elastic means (19) into the housing (5) of the rotor for the key, this member (16) being electrically linked, at one end (20), with the part (22) of the electrical circuit of the lock provided in the stator (3), and at its other end (18) with a conducting block (12) provided on the key, when this key (6) has been inserted into the rotor. <IMAGE>
