PURPOSE:To obtain a pest repellent exhibiting a repelling activity for a long time and capable of being applied to blood-sucking or biting insect pests such as mosquitoes, gnats, horseflies, fleas and lice by mixing N,N-diethyl-toluamide and a specific p-menthane derivative. CONSTITUTION:A pest repellent capable of having a remarkably elongated persistent time comprises a mixture of N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide and a p- menthane derivative of the formula (R is OH, 1-3C alkylcarbonyloxy, phenylsulfonyloxy which may have a methyl group, 1-2C alkylcarbamoyloxy or Cl) (e.g. p-methane-3,8-cis-diol). The pest repellent has an activity to prevent bodies from blood-sucking or biting insect pests for an extremely long time and highly contributes to improve the efficiency of outdoor works. |
