METHOD FOR SEARCHING FAULTED POINT OF TUBE

PURPOSE:To specify the faulted point and faulted position of the tube without cutting out the tube by moving a radio transmitter in the tube and searching for the faulted point of the tube from response characteristics of a signal received by a receiver outside the tube. CONSTITUTION:The radio transmitter 10 is inserted into one end of the tube 10 and a compressor 20 sends compressed air in the tube 1. Consequently, the radio transmitter 10 is pushed by the compressed air to move in the tube 1 to the other end. The receiver 30 is installed nearby the compressor 20. If there is a collapsed part halfway in the tube 1, the radio transmitter 10 collides against the collapsed part and can not move forth, so the received signal level of the receiver 30 does not attenuate from a certain point of time. For the purpose, the time (t) up to the phenomenon wherein the received signal level does not attenuate is detected to specify the position of the collapsed part 1a.
