The light signalling device (10) comprises a light emitter (11) having a container (12) which radiates light from at least one side; and a stand (13) which supports the signalling device (10). The signalling device (10) further comprises a voltage supply (15) as a network independent power source e.g. a battery or an accumulator. The power source comprises a number of photo elements (14) arranged on the signalling device (10). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used as warning or indication light e.g. in airports, on roads etc. - Inexpensive and reliable.
