Electrostatic powder coating equipment - cleans powder nozzles in same process as supplying coating chamber

The items to be coated one moved through the coating chamber and have spray nozzles on one wall and filter units (10) on the other wall. To clean the chamber prior to colour change, or for routine cleaning, the filter units are withdrawn out of the side walls, and the apertures covered with sliding covers. The spray nozzles remain and are subjected to the cleaning process. The spray-and filter units are arranged on alternate sides of the chamber as the workpieces are passed through. The cleaning process involves cleaning sprays (17) inside the chamber and alternate application of cleaning fluid and compressed air. The nozzles receive the same treatment. ADVANTAGE - No separate cleaning process for spray heads; simple colour change process. (7pp Dwg.No.2/3)
