PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance and durability of the magnetic recording medium by forming the lubricant of specific fluorine-contained polyether. CONSTITUTION:The lubricant consists of the fluorine-contained polyether expressed by formula I. In the formula I, Rf denotes a group contg. a fluoroalkyl polyether group; X denotes -CF2COO-, -C2F4COO- or -CF2CF2-; A denotes a group contg. a polyoxyalkylene group or 1 to 20C alkyl group. The preferable specific example of the fluorine-contained polyether includes F(CF2CF2CF2O) mCF2CF2 COOCH2CH2(-OCH2CH2)nOCH3 [the average value of m is 9, the average value of n is 8]. The magnetic recording medium in such a manner exhibits the excellent durability, corrosion resistance and wear resistance. |
