A key field has keys associated with a carrier plate (56) and each with a key cap (38) and an axially movable, shaft-like pressure element (48) protruding through the plate with a contact, e.g. for a circuit board element. The pressure element moves w.r.t. the plate against a deformable elastic force storage cage (51). The key cap and cage have a sealed connection to a socket plate (60) protruding through the carrier plate to join onto a counter element on the other side. ADVANTAGE - Mfr. and assembly of key field simplified and dust and liq. protection improved.
