The electrically triggered lighter or igniter is designed so that its fusible material is enclosed by a metal sleeve (6), open at the end with the electrical connections. On this sleeve, another sleeve (5) slides from the end with the electrical connections. The connections can consist of one or two cables and in the case of one connection (3,4), a first section (1) has in the axial direction, a conductor, not insulated, with an external diameter (D) and at least one other section (2) with a conductor of smaller diameter (d). The rest of the space is filled with insulation (4). In the safety position the outer sleeve is in contact with the first section and in the firing position in contact with the second and insulated section. ADVANTAGE - Is protected against stray electrostatic and e.m. fields until in position for firing.
