PURPOSE:To set a large number of heads free from crogging in a short time, by a method wherein a connection path between each tank and a head is provided so that each liquid in a tank storing liquids having different compositions from each other is independently fed to the head. CONSTITUTION:Ink jet heads H1, H2...Hn have ink discharge ports A1, A2... An, respectively. An ink tank IT1 has two ink housing rooms of R1-1 and R1-2 and the room R1-1 and the other room R1-2 are connected to the head H1 through conduits P1-1, P1-2 and P1-4, P1-3, respectively. In order to feed ink, a 3-way valves V1-1, V1-2 are released in a direction connecting the H1 and IT1, a 2-way valve V'1 is closed, and the R1-1 is pressurized, which results in filling a relay liquid chamber C1 with ink IK through the P1-1, and P1-2. |
