PURPOSE:To obtain the high-quality film suitable as a material for magnetic tape, having both excellent smoothness and slipperiness, having protrusions caused by inert fine particles by making the film into rough surface so as to satisfy a specific condition. CONSTITUTION:The objective film having at least one side made into rough surface by protrusions caused by inert fine particles and simultaneously satisfying 0.01<=SRz<=0.4, H0.1<500 and H0.01-0.05>=20,000 [SRz average roughness (mum) of ten points; H0.1 is number of protrusions (protrusions/mm<2> having >=0.1mum height); H0.01-0.05 is number of protrusions (protrusions/mm<2>) having 0.01-0.05mum height]. In forming the protrusions, for example, a layer comprising inert particles and another resin is laminated to one side of substrate polyester substantially not containing particles to form surface protrusions. |
