PURPOSE:To provide a desulfurizing agent which is obtd. by roasting diamide lime in an oxidative atmosphere and has excellent conveying and desulfurizing characteristics for gases. CONSTITUTION:Diamide lime as a fine mixture of calcium carbonate and carbon obtd. in the stage of producing dicyandiamide from lime nitrogen is blown together with heat media such as quicklime of 0.1-2.5mm. grain sizes, silica sand and others into a fluidized-solids roastor 1. At the same time, the air past a filter 6 is blown to the lower part of the furnace 1 and is blown upward through a perforated plate 5, thereby fluidizing the diamide lime and the heat media. Fuel such as petroleum is fed from a petroleum tank 3 into the furnace and is burned with a burner 4 to fluidize and roast the diamide lime. The gas is discharged through a gas release pipe 7 and quicklime is recovered in a cyclone 8. Since this quicklime has good conveying characteristics for gases, it can be blown as a desulfurizing agent into molten iron with a carrier gas of <=30Nl per kg; therefore the decrease in the temp. of the molten iron and the splashing of the molten iron by the carrier gas is reduced. |
