PURPOSE:To attain a good threshold current characteristic by determining the ratio of the area a, b corresponding to the range of <0.5mm and >=0.5mm from the end part on the gas diffusion hole side of an inner electrode of an electrochemical pump cell at 0</b<=0.1. CONSTITUTION:The case in which both of the threshold current characteristic and the responsiveness are good is the range expressed by 0<a/b<=0.1 if the area of the inner Vs electrode 4 for the range of <0.5mm from the end part on the gas diffusion hole side of the inner Ip electrode 12 of the electrochemical pump cell is designated as (a) and the area of the electrode 4 existing on the deep side of the gas diffusion chamber from 0.5mm thereof as (b).
