The blind's upper edge is held on a rail (11), joined to the window frame, and a heavy rod (46) at the bottom. Cords (39) are rolled on drums (28), on a shaft (18) joined to the window frame. The cords are fixed to the bottom of the blind and pass through loops (49), joined to the blind. Each side of the drums has a radial slot (34), opening in its edges, in which the end of the cord is held by an end piece (12). The cord is threaded through a hole in the end piece and then knotted.
