PURPOSE:To surely trap dust without incurring a large pressure loss, by providing such an arrangement that large size dust is captured by making the size of the mesh of a filtering layer small, but fine dust is captured by utilizing the phenomenon of adhesion by polymer compound fibers. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical filtering layer 2 having an outer and inner cylindrical walls 5, 6 formed therein a plurality of perforations 5a, 6a, for catching large size dust, is disposed in a filter casing 1. Polymer compound fiber material 9 such as, for example, cotton cellulose fibers, polypropylene fibers, etc. are charged in a liquid storing chamber 8 defined outside of the filtering layer 2, and are suspended entirely of the chamber 8. With this arrangement, large size dust is trapped by the mesh of the filtering layer 2, but fine dust is trapped under the phenomenon of adhesion, thereby dust may be captured without incurring a large pressure loss. |
