<p>PURPOSE:To manufacture the self-exothermic metallic material in which stable natural heating is generated from a room temp. in the air even in a bulky state by subjecting a transition metal-Al series intermetallic compound to Al eluting treatment with an alkaline water soln. CONSTITUTION:Al is incorporated into a transition metal (such as Fe, Co and Ni) to manufacture intermetallic compound stock by a powder metallurgy method or the like. Then, the stock is treated by an alkaline water soln. such as the aqueous soln. of caustic soda having about 10 to 20% concn. to elute Al so that 6 to 12wt.% Al remains. In this way, the self-exothermic metallic material having a stable natural heating operation even in a bulky state can be obtd. with good manufacturability.</p> |
