<p>PURPOSE:To attain the retrieving of a backed up data file in a short time by retrieving a DAT cassette tape of each volume with the serching speed responding to a file size recorded it from the beginning to end. CONSTITUTION:Plural DAT cassette tapes are provided and by selecting one of the plural DAT cassette tapes and a cassette changer 13 to load/unload to/from a recording reproducing device part 12 is provided. Based on the information indicating the file size of each file inputting together with the data file to be backed up, a specific cassette tape is selected among the plural cassette tapes provided on the cassette changer 13 and loaded to the recording reproducing device part 12 and the data file is recorded. Consequently, to one volume of DAT cassette tape only the data of the same extent of file size is recorded, at the serching time in the case of retrieving the desired file, the retrieving is attained with the serching speed responding to the file size. In such a manner, the retrieving is performed in a short time.</p> |
